As the newest subsidiary of Triangle Electric, AMS builds on a legacy of expertise and innovation that dates back to 1946, while working alongside other pioneering divisions like Industrial Automation.

 

Our Story
AMS was founded in 2024 with a vision to combine over two decades of hands-on expertise in the Bakken Oilfields with the advanced capabilities of Triangle Electric. With leadership forged in the demanding conditions of the oilfields, we bring unmatched knowledge, precision, and dedication to every project.

 

Our roots are deeply connected to Triangle Electric, a company with a rich history. Founded in 1946 by Harold Hoffelt, Oscar Stenehjem, and Selmer Johnson, Triangle Electric began as a family-owned business focused on rural electrification in eastern Montana and western North Dakota. Over the years, Triangle expanded its services, participating in the first major oil boom in the Williston Basin during the 1950s and growing alongside the development of the Bakken region.

 

Today, Triangle Electric includes divisions like Industrial Automation, which was established in 2008. With a 5,000 sq. ft. UL ETL-certified panel shop and a team of experienced technicians, Industrial Automation delivers automation control systems, variable frequency drives, communications networks, and field services. Together, Triangle Electric and its subsidiaries form a powerhouse of innovation and expertise.
